How do I start?

Join us for a complimentary class! Select a class location and date that interests you and you can "enroll" for that class online.

How do I prepare for class?

Mom: Eat breakfast, bring a snack for yourself to consume after workout or if you begin to feel lightheaded during class (i.e. KIND bar, piece of fruit), lots of water, for cooler mornings, dress in layers so you can shed clothes as you warm up and lace up athletic shoes. A towel or mat for floor work is also suggested but not required!

Child: Dress them appropriately for weather, extra blanket for cooler mornings, bottles or Sippy Cups with water, snacks, toys and books

What do I need for class?

We suggest athletic shoes, a towel or mat for our ground exercises and plenty of water. For outdoor classes, please bring a hat and/or sunblock. And of course your baby and stroller! Just about any stroller will do, as long as it's not prone to tipping and your baby can be safely buckled in. You do not have to have a jogger. Stroller Strides fitness strollers are available at stores nationwide and online through BOB.

How old does my baby have to be?

We are more concerned with YOU and if you've been cleared by your doctor to resume regular activities (including exercise). If you've delivered vaginally, this is typically at 6 weeks, or 8 weeks if you had a c-section. Once cleared, you can begin classes whenever you're ready!

Children can take classes with you up to any age as long as they still enjoy a ride in the stroller. ALWAYS get your doctor’s permission before starting this or any other kind of exercise program.

What do I do if my baby is fussy during class?

Our classes are the safest places to be if something is bothering your baby. We are all moms and have dealt with fussy babies at some point! Your baby will most likely not be the loudest or noisiest in class that day.

Some of the "veteran" moms have great tips/tricks for babies at all ages. One popular suggestion is to bring a front carrier with you to class. Our instructors are great at offering modifications for all exercises while carrying your baby.

Our first priority is the happiness of your baby. Feel free to tend to your baby first; feel free to nurse/feed your baby at any station if needed. Because we stop every few minutes for body toning, you can always catch up with us if you get behind. If your baby ever fusses so much that you miss an entire class, we will happily credit you another class. Our instructors will do their very best to make the class enjoyable for both you and your baby!

Does my child have to stay in the stroller to attend class?

Yes! For everyone's safety- all children must stay in a stroller until the end of class. We will sing songs and do interactive activities to help keep the kiddos engaged! They can get out at the end of class and play together. Plus, we offer a playgroup once a week after class at all locations!

The #1 reason moms don't come to class is because they think their kids won't stay in the stroller. CLICK HERE for some of our mama-to-mama advice for how to make it work!

Can I join if I am pregnant?

Yes! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise through their pregnancy as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre and post natal fitness and follow the ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy. Exercise during pregnancy helps improve or increase:

  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Muscular strength/endurance
  • Energy levels
  • Higher fatigue threshold
  • Posture and biomechanics
  • Circulation
  • Self-esteem, sense of well-being
  • Recovery time
